Thailand Trip '14

S and I had quite a blast at Thailand last September. Since both of us are return travelers,we opted just to stay at two places and not go back-packing and see many sites. Thus, we came back from the trip not exhausted and our souls fully recharged.
We decided to spend a few nights at Bangkok and a couple at Pattaya.
First night we landed at Hard Rock Cafe Bangkok and stayed there until the Filipino band finished their routine. They were unbelievably smashing to be honest even Simon would agree with me.
We even went back to see them perform again on our last night in the city. Unfortunately, I deleted a video of them showcasing their world famous talent. Oh well, but I guess my assessment was pretty much accurate as they told us, they are going to perform at Hard Rock Cafe (HRC) Dubai the next month and in several other HRC's in Asia. So...

Anyway back to the trip. On the first day, we went to MBK, the major shopping haven in Thailand's City of Angels. Not for shopping galore, as it was too early for the trip (and really we were on a tight budget) but just to try some hot Thai soup which I was really craving for and to cure S's hangover from the night before. :-)

Then we proceeded to the next place, Pattaya, which is only 2 hrs from Bangkok.

Beach!! That was the first thing came to mind, then oh wait, Girly Bars! Probably that what S had in mind next! or maybe first? ;-)

But really, it is a very beautiful place, very touristy yes, but at least we, as foreigners, were not alone. Well, S, is a farang but not me. " Oh you Filipina? Oh same face", I get that all the time every time I go to Thailand. But I really don't mind, in fact, I like it because Thai girls are known for their exceptional beauty. Not that I am saying I have one, oh well, maybe, you never know, ;-).

Anyway, Pattaya is known for the "girly bars" as Vegas is known for gambling but it's a big place that you can stay somewhere away from the ever famous stigma which people associate with Pattaya.
I have known people who came to the place and turned their boring western lives to an exciting, exotic dream like Pattaya. Well, to each his own I suppose. Anyway, I did allow S to see the girly bars, but only with me by his side and it had to be at mid day (when most of the girls are fast asleep from the craziness of the night before). Hehe!

Most of our days in Pattaya were spent pool and beach lounging, devouring spicy Thai food, talking endlessly and just purely unwinding. We had a grand time, that's all I can say.
But alas, time was up and we needed to be in BKK again. Last day was spent at MBK Mall, this time though, Simon and I shopped a little.
The night came and we meet up with S's very good friend, Old Wink at Hard Rock Cafe.

However short the trip was, there are certain things that remain vivid in my memory. These include but not limited to:

* Thai food especially Tom Kha Gai,(sorry no picture of it as I am not like those types who like to snap food selfie. If I see food, I eat it. )
*S and I  getting authentic Thai massages
*Walking on the Walking Street.
*Watching people. Watching the sun sets. Watching bands perform. Watching S getting a little drunk. Watching S's dancing silly (very much in that order,;-))
* Remy Martin
* Magician/Elvis Impersonator taxi driver.
* Ladylike ladyboys
*Colorful buses
* Marvelous breakfasts in the hotel.
*The view of Pattaya from our room.
*etc.

God, the entire time I was there,  I was thanking the universe for the handsomeness of everything, The beach, the surrounding, the people, the food and of course S. He, is a great travel companion, and  I, very much like him to stay that way, forever. My ultimate partner for everything.

 How can I forget!  This too, among other things, will remain vivid in my mental library..We got engaged on this trip! So yay!
